I have a friend of mine that grow up with Bill Murray. Her parents were Bill's parents best friends. Dear Mr. Murray.

I recently lost my job and was hoping you could help me with a business venture that I know you can capitalize on. This idea I have is brilliant and with your financial help I can get it going with a full time staff. I've worked for a number of turkey farms and have devised a machine that plucks the feathers off a turkey in a matter of minutes. It comes with a vaccum attached to it so the feathers all get sucked into a bag so in effect any people that are allergic wont be affected by the allergens in the air caused by the feathers. The old way was doing it the arduos way of hand plucking. I have a prototype that I built in my basement and also have a patent on. It was a stretch financially to get the patent but we have enough canned lima beans to last all of us a while, at least until we can get this underway. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Anyway, I've been curious about something for over 20 years now.- In 1981, my daughter & I went to Europe to visit family that were in the u.s.army stationed in Germany. -We took a cheap side-trip(bus ride, took our own peanut butter & bread) to Paris and Versailles palace. I am not trying to get a hand out, but perhaps some kind of business venture where we both can make money. I have been interested in vehicle security since 1997. I get sick when I hear of peoples property stolen , damaged , and even lives lost from such a preventable problem as car theft. I have looked at many vehicle security devices and there weakness, and endeavored to build a device that is easy to install and also user friendly, and very difficult to remove. I have built prototypes, and have used one on my vehicle for three years even in big cities, and always felt comfortable that my car would always be there where I parked it. I also installed one on an old truck in an auto wreaker and it took three big men 4min. 56 seconds to remove it, only by braking the floorboard because of too ridged a base. This has since been redesigned to be flexible. It was encouraging to see one person could not remove it. It is loose enough installed, that it cannot be cut with a hacksaw, since it is made with good strong steel. The lock cannot be frozen because it is incased with steel and a small air space. These men ! tried with hammers and feet to remove it and only exhausted themselves. Since joy rides and theft of vehicles for the purpose of committing a crime are the main reasons for general auto theft, I know this will be a very good and secure type of vehicle theft deterrent. I have a U.S. patent and applied for an international patent with the help of a company in Ireland, who have done up for me a confidential research report, on North America, and Europe and are at this time trying to find manufactures all around the world that would be interested in building this device that I call "Brake Lock. There is some simple electronics that serve as a trade mark, as well as takes care of the brake light problem. I recently have had interest from England and Illinois and hope to get a positive response from them. Auto theft is a huge problem everywhere. I know it will make a difference. But it will only make a difference if people will use it. This was about 1992 and we went by Margaret's store and then the four of us(you, Margaret, myself and Helena) grabbed a quick bite to eat. Anyhow, enough about old times and on to the new......My name is Michael Wright and my sister Rachel Hamman and I started a non-profit organization called the Golden Rule Foundation in Orlando. Our first goal and our mission statement is inspiring kids to give to others. This is accomplished by funding their supplies, transportation and project costs by raising money from the local business community. Other than the warm-fuzzy feeling that they get from designing and implementing their own community service project as class, there are other results which have been measured in other states that have similar programs where the child is empowered, realizes that no matter how young they are they can contribute to their community and most importantly you see increased testing scores, attendance goes up and tardiness and Behavioral problems decrease dramatically. Another 40% of the money we raise for each class being sponsored goes directly to the teacher to use as he/she sees fit for supplies, computers etc,.....which usually comes out of their own already meager salaries. Each class being sponsored must write thank you notes to whomever sponsored their class. We have a great Board of Directors that includes Katherine Harrs, Secretary of the State of Florida, Top executives from Disney, Universal and the Mayor of Orlando, Glenda Hood. To the favor.....each year we hold an annual event called the Golden Gala. This year it is being held an an estate out in Islesworth(very near to Disney) that is approx. 18,000 square feet. Their will be local celebreties and sports figures in attendance. We hold both live and silent auctions at the event and the most popular is spending half-a-day with a celebrity or political figure. Katherine Harris usually fetches between $5,000 to $15,000. Well, Carrot-top or Scott Thompson will be there this year performing and possibly putting himself up for auction. I recently read in the Chronicle of Philanthropy that Bill Cosby recently fetched $50,000 for half a day with him. We think that you could beat that number!!!! Anyhow, the event is being held February 3rd and you and your entire family would be flown in 1st class, and would be put up at one of Disney's finest resorts. Essentially, it would be an all-expense paid vacation for you and your family; all we ask in return is that you say a few words at the event and put yourself up for a half-day with the lucky bidder. This half-day could consist of playing golf at one of Orlando's many fine courses or possibly them coming to you either in New York for half a day or LA. Hi I was asked by CAF( Child Alert Foundation)http://www.ChildAlert.org to help spread the word about a boy who was the victom of a hit and run driver.Here is a clip of his story.

Eric, at the age of 10, was a victom of a hit and run driver and left with every bone in his body broken. He has a 68 degree bend in his spine, is paralyzed from his neck down. He has daily migrane headaches. To add heart ache to misery for his family, the insurance cancelled out on them.

The current van the family owns is old and not as reliable for the over 100 mile required trips to the hospital. Eric will be facing surgury to relieve pressure where his spine is restricting circulation of blood The doctors will try to straighten it with a series of rods, but even so, it's a dangerous proceedure. Please pray for Eric and his family.His family is loving and devoted to his care, but resources are limited. Help us to get them a new van!

Bill, Hey what's up. Me nothing much. For the past month my life as been dull and boring void of nothingness. The only bright spot as been your movies. I've been rewatching them,for the past two weeks. Renting them since my video tapes are in storage.

Loved Ghostbusters 1+2,can't tell you how many times my best friend and I went to see them. :)

Bill, Time is running out to save the last Baseball park as you know it, Cubs Park! The Tribune Company and Cubs Management is planning on raping this last Jewel in the Major Leagues by erecting additional bleachers in Left Field and placing signage on it. As you know, Cubs Park has been spared advertising inside the Ball Park since time began. Outside the Ball Park the Daley Administration has only allowed the two bill boards because they were grandfathered in, but will not allow any new ones. The City Committee on LandMarks is considering Wrigley Field for LandMark statis, but I'm pretty sure that, by Mr. McGuire's attitude at a neighborhood meeting resently that the City and the Cubs management are in bed together. Bleachers will be erected, advertising will be placed on it, and Baseball at Cubs park will never be the same again and the World of Baseball would have lost something very special forever. I hope you get to read this... I'm a great admirer of your work. No, I haven't seen every movie-but most. Every now and again one of my friends, co-workers, or family will bring you up beginning a huge discussion. This happens more often than you think. I thought you might be amused by hearing about some of the more odd topics. Once the entire Wendy's resteruant I worked at was debating who would win in a fist fight: You or Chevy Chase.(They decided you,"I bet he's mean when he's mad!") My friend and I were making Donuts at Wal-Mart, third shift(We talked about alot of weird stuff!). We were trying to decide what kind of adult video** would be an all-time best seller. It's a long story but we ended up with the idea that you narrating any adult video would be the best seller. Imagine it: The morning radio talkshow announces it on average Joe's way to work. Who wouldn't want to at least see it. My friends and I have a Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying group. In every town, in every story, the bartender is you. (The impressions we do!) Whenever anyone states a movie other than 'It's a Wonderful Life' or 'Scrooged' as their favorite Christmas movies, we bash their favorite movie until they can't like it anymore. (I see that as your greatest performance. Anyway's, aside from the hours we spend watching your movies, there are hours laughs, debates, thoeries, and arguements that my freinds, co-workers, and family think of as good times. You're always in our minds and in our hearts. Keep up the good work!

Mr Murray, I've only just found this site - I stumbled across it entirely by accident via a lovearth.net popup. I'm really hoping that you get to read this at some point as both myself and my older brother have been fans of yours throughout our lives, him in particular - He insisted on going to see Ghostbusters 13 times at the cinema, and memorised practically every line but he'd kill me for telling you that (he's going through his butch "I'm a 27 year old, don'y you know" phase and he can punch really hard!) As a small child I had all the Ghostbusters action figures up until the point when I took them into school against my mothers wishes and they were stolen from my back. I have never fully recovered. I apologise for that but I just had to share my anguish! Anyway, we just got the Charlie' Angels DVD and I think at this rate I'm going to become the world's first person to wear out a DVD through watching it too much! By the way, in my opinion you are the highlight of the film, as ever. (Not that I intended for my nose to turn any shade of brown in writing this!) Anyway, I wondered if it would be at all possible for me to pick up on a couple of autographs (one for my brother Neil who's birthday is coming up(!) and one for myself as I never did quite get over that little Ghostbusters induced school-girl crush! Wow, I was watching a Bill Murray movie 'Scrooged' from cable after watching the last few minutes of 'Space Jam' when he said, "that could've been me." made me thinking. I'm addicted to TV and I remember watching that TV Commercial / Press Conference that Bill Murray did once stating he was joining the NBA (or was it the NBA Draft). I thought it was funny. In 8 days, Charlie's Angels opens here in the UK and I think it sucks that they are using T+A in the marketing for it. Just wanted to let you konw that I am very happy that you had a desire to remake The Razor's Edge. My Mother took me to see it in the theatres when It opened (I was 19). I think it is safe to say that that movie was one of many pivotal experiences in my life. I recently "rediscovered" it and it still has the same power today.I though your portrayal of Larry Darrell was what Somerest Maughm would have wanted as well as your screenplay. I have never written to a celebrity before but I would really like to know what motivated you to take a chance on this film ? What are your reflections on the novel ? I guess for me it was that "final push" I needed to gain more knowledge about the nature of things. Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your obvious pass
